Why are CECI participants involved in so many events in Japan?
The reason is that CECI participants are taking their businesses to Japan with the help of the City of Osaka and JETRO Chicago and generating NEW BUSINESS. Even with slow economies, The U.S. and Japan have the largest gross domestic economies in the world. There are resources in Chicago to help you determine if your products may have a market in Osaka, Japan.
Some CECI participants are returning to the U.S. with immediate orders and product inquiries. Other participants are even investigating opening offices in Osaka and other cities in Japan.
In order to participate in the global economy, Chicago companies are taking the initiative to meet with International contacts in Chicago and around the world. A steady stream of CECI participants have been going to Japan as a result of presentations in Chicago. Even more Chicago businesses have expressed an interest in doing business with companies and agencies in Japan.
Global Venture Forum: (text from the GVF Website)
Acclaimed since its initial forum in 1995, GVF is a broad spectrum global
business matching event providing valuable opportunities to link U.S.
technologies and products with distribution, production, engineering and funding
resources of established Japanese companies.
Upon selection through a screening process conducted by the GVF Nominating
Committee (executive representatives from Japanese manufacturing, distribution,
research, and financial institutions), companies will participate in a two-day
forum in which they will meet one-on-one with an average of fourteen Japanese
organizations interested in the presenting company's technology or product.
Participating companies will also take part in a larger group presentation to an
audience including Japanese representatives from the presenterŐs particular
industry.
There is no cost for the application (June 28 deadline). A participation fee of
$1900 covers the following services: Individual meetings with pre-screened
companies interested in the product or technology, professional interpreter for
all individual discussions and group presentations, private meeting booth with
furniture, media equipment for group presentation, invitation to all GVF related
events, lunch on both days of GVF. Participants will also receive substantial
hotel discount rates.
