Hear from some of the top officials and businessmen from Japan and the U.S., inlcuding ... 

Mr. Hidehiro Konno is Vice Minister for International Affairs at Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). He was named to that position in 2001. Previously he had served as Director-General, International Trade Policy Bureau. He joined MITI (METI's predecessor) in 1968. 

Mr. Charles M. Holley, Jr. is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Wal-Mart International, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., and is responsible for directing Wal-Mart's international mergers and acquisitions activity. He joined Wal-Mart's International Division in 1994, was promoted to Vice President in 1996 and to Senior Vice President in 1999. 

Mr. J. Joseph (Joe) King is Vice Chairman and CEO, Molex Inc. He joined in 1975. In 1996, he was named Executive Vice President and was given responsibility for Molex's functional groups, worldwide. In 1999 he was named President and Chief Operating Officer, and in 2001 Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Alan P. Larson is the first career Foreign Service Officer to serve as Under Secretary of State for Economic, Business, and Agricultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. As the senior economic advisor to Secretary Powell, Mr. Larson's responsibilities include the entire range of international economic policy.

Mr. David Blake is the Publisher of Crain's Chicago Business. A 21-year veteran of Crain's,  Mr. Blake was named publisher in 2000. Prior to this appointment, he had served as Crain's associate publisher since 1995. In 1998, he added the duties of a corporate vice president. In addition, Mr. Blake directs the related Web site - ChicagoBusiness.com. 

Mr. Kenneth C. Brown is a private equity partner with One Equity Partners. He is a seasoned international business executive with 18 years of corporate and general management experience in multiple industries. His background includes a career as president of the achitecture and engineering design firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP. 

Mr. Dan Miller is the business editor of the Chicago Sun-Times, where he is responsible for the business sections of the 500,000-circulation daily newspaper. He has also launched and served 10 years as editor of Crain's Chicago Business. In 1994, he was named chairman of the Illinois Commerce Commission. In April 1999 he was named business editor of the Chicago Sun-Times. 

Mr. Yoshinobu Nisaka is Deputy Director-General, Trade Policy Bureau, METI. Prior to assuming that position in 2001, he served as Director of the Policy Division, Economic Planning Agency. He joined MITI in 1974.

Mr. Daniel J. Pike, is Vice President of Operations for Cabot Microelectronics Corporation. Mr. Pike directed the construction, staffing, start-up and operation of Cabot Microelectronics' manufacturing and distribution facilities in Japan and South Korea. He serves as President, Nihon Cabot Microelectronics, KK. 

Mr. Masamitsu Shiseki is a Counsellor for Civil Affair in the Ministry of Justice, appointed to the position in 2002. He has served as a Judge in the Osaka District Court, Yamagate District and Family Court, and the Tokyo District Court. In 1990 he was appointed as an Attorney in the Civil Affair Bureau of the Ministry of Justice and was promoted to Counsellor three years ago.

Mr. William A. Streff, Jr. is a partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis, one of the practice group leaders of the Firm's 125-member Intellectual Property Department; a member of the Firm Management Committee and a member and former Chairman of the Firm's Technology Committee. 

Mr. Hiroshi Tsukamoto, was named President of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) on June 17, 2002. He was previously President of The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA). Mr. Tsukamoto joined Japan's Ministry of International Trade and Industry (METI's predecessor) in 1968, and has had overseas assignments in Indonesia, London and New York.
