Welcome to the Chicagoland Electronic Commerce
Initiative (CECI).
The Chicagoland Electronic Commerce Initiative (CECI) is the organization with whom to stay in touch, in order to learn about
the global role in the advancement of data infrastructure and modern commerce
for Chicago and Illinois.
CECI was created, in 1995, to promote the growth of electronic commerce and to help facilitate the adoption of standards that are open and optimal, which effectively use the Internet. Our objective
has been to create a forum to pool the considerable talent, resources, and structure that exist within the greater Chicagoland area to encourage more high-tech growth within our community.
CECI's role in the international business community has increased as more enterprises become interested in
global business-to-business commerce and security systems using hybrid private/public networks and the Internet.
Since 2000, several CECI participants have traveled outside the United
States to develop their own businesses. CECI has also jointly hosted
meetings with other organizations in Chicago.
The economic downturn of early 2000's has drawn attention back to the
basics, fundamental to all businesses. Another key fundamental --
Infrastructure. We are happy to report that CECI has been focused on
infrastructure since its inception.
CECI has also been a free service to the community since 1995.
